The National Anthropology Museum was inaugurated in 1964 and has different display rooms which each one is dedicated to a different culture of Mexico: Mayas, Mexicas, Olmecs and more. To get here we will walk a part of one of the lungs of the city: CHAPULTPEC PARK, which always it’s compared with Central Park in New York City, but this one is bigger. The entrance of the museum is a nice walk to the top of a hill called CHAPULTEPEC which means grasshopper hill. In case you have a wheelchair or you have problems walking, there is an elevator that take you directly to the castle. Once you are in the top, you will appreciate a beautiful colonial castle with several rooms which belongs to Porfirio Díaz, one of the most important presidents of Mexico. During his government, he lived in this place and now it’s a museum of the colonial era of Mexico. You will be immersed in the colonial era in all the rooms and in the gardens, you will have a 360° view of the city and the Chapultepec’s Park.
CANTINA LUNCH
After all this walk, we will take you for lunch. The best place to take lunch like a true Mexican is in a MEXICAN CANTINA. The cantinas had the tradition to not allowed women inside and bring complementary food constantly if you order drinks. But with time this tradition evolved and now, in most cantinas, women are allowed and most of them have now food menus.
The cantina we will take you, had evolve with time and their menu offers all kind of Mexican food and some international dishes like tacos of chamorro, shrimp tacos, salty fish and other option. The guide will guide you through the menu so you can choose your meal.
RITZ CARLTON’S BAR
To finish this amazing experience, you will visit one of the most beautiful bars from the city. Located in the 38th floor of the new Reforma UNO tower, the hotel Ritz Carlton has its bar called Samos. Here you will enjoy a drink while admiring a higher view of the city and have a different perpective of the Chapultepec’s Park and Reforma Avenue.
